Planning a wedding involves countless decisions, and choosing the right wedding videography package might feel like yet another overwhelming choice. With various options available, how do you know what coverage will truly capture your special day without breaking the bank? I understand this challenge, which is why I’ve created this guide to help you navigate your options with confidence.

What Is a Wedding Videography Package?
A wedding videography package is a pre-designed collection of services offered by videographers to capture your special day. Typically, these packages include:
Hours of coverage: The amount of time your videographer will be present (from 4 hours to full-day coverage)
Final deliverables: What you'll receive (highlight film, feature film, digital downloads)
Key moments captured: Which specific parts of your day will be filmed
Editing and delivery format: How your final films will be edited and presented
According to recent surveys by Hitched.co.uk, the average UK couple spends between £900 and £2,000 on wedding videography, with packages varying widely based on coverage and deliverables. To learn more about my wedding videography services, visit my Wedding Videography Packages page.
Factors to Consider Before you Choose a Wedding Videography Package
Before diving into specific packages, consider these important factors that will influence your decision:

Your Wedding Timeline
The duration of your celebration is perhaps the most crucial factor. Ask yourself:
Do you want preparation footage before the ceremony?
Is capturing the full evening reception and first dance essential?
Are there special moments throughout the day you don’t want to miss?
A typical wedding day spans from morning preparations to evening celebrations. Full-day wedding videography ensures nothing is missed, but if you're primarily concerned with key moments like the ceremony and speeches, a more focused package might be suitable.
Your Budget Priorities
With the average UK wedding now costing over £30,000, most couples need to prioritise their spending. Remarkably, nearly 35% of couples who opted against hiring a videographer later reported regretting this decision.
If videography is important to you but budget is tight, consider:
Booking a package that focuses on key moments only
Understanding exactly what is and isn’t included in each package
Discussing your specific needs with your videographer
Your Expectations for the Final Film
What kind of wedding film do you envision? Do you want:
A short highlight film to share on social media?
A comprehensive feature film showing everything in full?
Physical copies like USB and DVD in addition to digital files?
Your vision for the final product should guide your package selection. Check out my Gold Package for the best value, with ceremony through to the first dance coverage.

Comparing my Wedding Videography Packages
I offer four distinct wedding videography packages to suit different needs and budgets:

Perfect for couples who want specific key moments captured during a condensed timeframe.
4 Hours Continuous Filming (Example: Ceremony, Drinks Reception, Speeches)
One Videographer
Highlighted Film (30-60 Seconds) available online for sharing
Feature Film (10-30 Minutes) available by download
Silver Package (from £695)
Ideal for couples who want only the most significant moments captured.
Only Key Moments Captured: Ceremony, Speeches, Cake Cutting & First Dance
One Videographer
Highlighted Film (60-90 Seconds) available online for sharing
Feature Film (20-45 Minutes) available by download
Gold Package (from £995)
My most popular option for comprehensive ceremony and reception coverage.
Coverage from start of Ceremony through to end of First Dance
One Videographer
Highlighted Film (3-5 Minutes) available online for sharing
Feature Film (30-80 Minutes)
All films delivered on USB & DVD in a special presentation gift box
Platinum Package (from £1,195)
The ultimate coverage, including morning preparations.
Coverage from morning preparations through to end of First Dance
Morning preparations of one party (usually Bridal Prep, both parties possible depending on time and locations)
One Videographer
Highlighted Film (4-6 Minutes) available online for sharing
Feature Film (45-90 Minutes)
All films delivered on USB & DVD in a special presentation gift box
Optional: Second Videographer (Additional £400)
Adding a second videographer allows us to capture twice as much footage and guarantees both sets of morning preparations can be filmed. This is particularly valuable for:
Capturing both partners getting ready simultaneously
Multiple angles of key moments like the ceremony
More guest reactions and candid moments throughout the day
Note: A second videographer's availability cannot always be guaranteed as this requires outsourcing. Please discuss this option early if you're interested.

How to Choose the Right Package for Your Needs
The Bronze Package Is Perfect When...
You have a simple timeline with key events happening within a 4-hour window
Budget is your primary concern
You're mainly interested in having the most important parts of your day filmed
The Silver Package Makes Sense When...
You specifically want only the major ceremonial moments captured
You prefer your videographer to be present only during formal events
You want the same price point as Bronze but with focus on traditional key moments
The Gold Package Is My Most Popular Choice When...
You want coverage from ceremony through first dance (the traditional "full day")
You value having a more substantial 3-5 minute highlight film
You appreciate having physical copies (USB & DVD) in addition to digital files
The Platinum Package Provides the Ultimate Experience When...
Morning preparations are important memories you want captured
You desire the most comprehensive coverage of your day
You want the longest possible highlight and feature films
When a Second Videographer Makes Sense
One of the biggest questions couples face is whether to invest in a second videographer. This additional professional provides:
Simultaneous coverage: Capture both partners' preparations when getting ready at different locations
Multiple angles: Get different perspectives of key moments like the first kiss or first dance
Broader coverage: Catch guest reactions while the primary videographer focuses on you
A second videographer makes particular sense when:
Your venue is especially large
You have more than 100 guests
Getting ready locations are far apart
You want maximum coverage with minimal chances of missing anything
For many couples, the Gold Package offers the perfect balance of coverage and value, while those wanting morning preparations included often choose the Platinum Package.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a Highlighted Film and a Feature Film?
A Highlighted Film is a shorter, cinematic edit perfect for sharing on social media (30 seconds to 6 minutes depending on package). The Feature Film includes all key moments in full, providing a comprehensive record of your day (30-90 minutes depending on package).
Can I choose the music for my wedding film?
You’re welcome to suggest songs and share your preferences, but the music for any publicly shared wedding videos must have a copyright license, which can sometimes be difficult and expensive to obtain. To give you more flexibility, I can create two versions of your wedding film: one with licensed stock music for sharing online, and another with unlicensed commercial music (by famous artists) for your private use, featuring songs that hold special meaning to you. Please note that providing two versions of the film is an additional service, and will incur an extra cost due to the extra editing required.
Why are packages unavailable during the Christmas/New Year period?
This period (20th December - 2nd January) is reserved for holiday and equipment maintenance. Booking well in advance is always recommended, especially for popular summer and weekend dates.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
We come prepared with weather-appropriate gear and contingency plans to ensure beautiful footage regardless of conditions.
Is there a deposit required to secure our date?
Yes, a non-refundable deposit is required to secure your wedding date, with the balance due before the wedding day. Please contact us for specific payment details.

Making Your Final Decision
Choosing the right wedding videography package ultimately comes down to understanding your unique priorities. Consider:
What moments matter most: If certain parts of the day are non-negotiable for video coverage, ensure your package includes those hours
Your budget: My range of packages ensures options for different financial considerations
Final deliverables: Think about how you'll want to watch and share your wedding films in the years to come
Remember, there's no one-size-fits-all approach to wedding videography. Every couple's day is unique, and your coverage should reflect that.
